Psychotherapist
Ring is a dedicated marriage and family therapist and psychotherapist. She has two daughters. Undoubtedly, she has real life experiences in handling family issues. She also organizes workshops and talks in different schools and organizations for promoting positive family and marital relationship as well as personal growth development.
Treatment Approaches
Marriage and Family Therapy: Ring Chung mainly uses the Structural and Bowen systemic approach, Gottman Method couple therapy and Prepare and Enrich couple assessment. Ring may integrate Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Narrative therapy where necessary.
Psychotherapy: Ring mainly uses the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), NLP and/or art therapy integrated with Emotionally-focused Therapy (EFT) where appropriate, with systemic view.
Depending on the nature of cases and stages of treatment, Ring would apply the suitable approach(es) to the clients for intervention with most effective results.
Her style in therapy is warm, calm, connected and interactive.
Clinical Experiences
Ring has rich clinical experiences on marital and family therapy. She is good at pre-marital counselling and handling marital conflicts and communications. Treating external marital affairs are common in her work too.
Other than private practice, she has worked in different settings such as primary schools, secondary schools, youth organizations as well as mental health organisations.
She has worked with different families on issues such as school refusal, low motivation, temper tantrums, conflicts between children and parents, parenting conflicts as well as marital and family stage adjustment issues.
She also works well on clients with difficulties in working place, loss on self direction with depression, anxiety, panic attack, grief and loss and/or other mood disorders.
Ring has treated different types of families including nuclear, divorced, blended and HK-Mainland families. Presently, she works exceptionally well with clients under life stresses such as emotional problems, marital crisis on affairs and parenting challenges. She connects well with the teenagers. Ring feels that pre-marital counselling is more vital nowadays.
Besides, Ring is also a facilitator leading an emotional support group of the people with depression in a non-profit making organization.
